Ben Shahn was an american photographer who was born September 12, 1898 and died on March 14, 1969. He is greatly known for his works during the great depression, World War II, and for his far left political ideas. He was not only a Photographer, But also a painter and a public speaker.

Paul Strand was a photographer in the 20th century, His influence can be found in almost all works of photography we see and know today. The main similarity i saw in looking at a few of his works is that they are all in black and white. I think he does this to capture the emotion of the people and objects in his photography, color would distract the viewer. For this assignment i plan to take close ups of man made objects.

Bad Photo Assignment Questions

1. I used my knowledge of cameras to trick my smartphone into producing the photo categories that were required of me. 

2.I was looking to produce an image where the whole photo was blurred, one with bad exposure, one with bad composition, one with wrong white balance, and one with subject blur.

3.The only step i had to take was to take the photos. Since my camera doesn't have settings there was nothing else to but trial and error.

4.They are unique, I tried not to get influenced by other photography and just see what my mind could think of.

5. Yes the wrong white balance was very difficult for me.

6.I could definitively use a better camera.

Light is by far the most important aspect in a photograph, it can be the difference on a great shot to a amazing shot. Over the weekend i looked at the same area throughout the day at times of different light. The difference in the look of the shot throughout the day was very surprising. I used to take the effect of light in a very loose way, not knowing its importance, but now I have paid attention to it i realize its importance.
