Andre Kertesz

Andre Kertesz was a Hungarian Photographer that lived from July 2, 1894 to September 28, 1985. And his main focus on Photojournalism which was a big market during his lifetime, but due to his obscure camera angles he never got the attention he felt he deserved. He felt as if he was unappreciated because most of his work was only published in smaller magazines. He also served in World War I and moved to Paris shortly after his honorable discharge. Here are some of his works.

Shutter Speed Post-Assignment

My Assignment was to take photos on the highest shutter speed possible on the camera to not allow blur on the photos. I evaluated my work on how clear the photo came out and to make sure nothing was blurry.I had people jump up and down to create the motion for the camera to capture. I really like how i captured the facial expressions of the models who were jumping. I think if i had more variety in where who and what i was shooting, the assignment could have turned out better.

Walker Evens

Walker Evens was an American photographer whose most famous fro documenting the great depression. He was born November 3,1903 and died April 10, 1975. Many of his works are held in Museums such as The Metropolitan Museum of Art. THese are some of my favorite works done by Walker Evens.

Ansel Adams

Ansel Adams was a american photographer who deeply believed in environmental ideology, who lived from 1902 to 1984. Most of his work is based upon landscapes which is why re relates to this weeks near and far assignment. These are my favorite works by him.

Shutter Speed Pre-Assignment

For this assignment we will start on a shutter speed of 1/200 and an IOS of 800. We will be trying to catch images such as the works of Eadweard Muybridge. For this assignment I plan to take photos of my fellow students jumping in different areas with different elements involved. I plan mostly to shoot on school grounds because of the fact that i will be doing the assignment during school time. I was really inspired by the pictures on the blogpost about the assignment, especially the one of the apple.

Pre Assignment Near and Far

Our assignment this week is to go out and get landscape photographs that has everything in front in focus as well as everything in the back in focus. To do this we will have to set our aperture setting at the lowest it can go so the smallest hole is taking the picture, we may even need a tripod for this assignment. I intend to use a cannon camera if using my phone proves to hard, but i want to see what my phone camera is capable of. I would like to do all the assignments in this class with my phone.

Leigh Perry

Leigh Perry is a famous photographer that mostly does landscapes, her website ishttp://www.leighperry.com/home.html and features stunning landscape photographs. She is from Sydney, Australia and has not updated her website in over 5 years. But here are some of my favorites from her.

Karim Nafatni

Karim Nafatni is a Dubai based pilot that has amazing photographs taken mostly from inside the cockpit of an Airbus A320. His work is very unique and he is currently a captain for an airline company. His work is truly breath taking and he is recently receiving international attention

    What is the assignment:
     How do you plan to take the photographs: I plan to get as close to objects such flowers and capture the detail and texture of the object.
     What inspirations did you find online that relate to the assignment: I found many pictures of flowers that shows a great deal of detail on the peddles.

1. What lessons or experiences did you “synthesize and analyze” to come up with your original idea-- what was your assignment. My Assignment was to take close up pictures.
2. How did you evaluated your work, what were you looking to create for the assignment, and was this idea a good idea?  i was looking to create a picture that depicts great detail.

3. What do you like best about your images? i like the shapes of the flowers

Get Close Pre-Assignment

Our next assignment will be to get very close to objects to capture the detail on them, we do this by setting our camera on "Aperture Priority". Many artist take close ups of things such as flowers, animals, cars, etc. While doing this project i intend to take many photos of flowers.
